Here’s the topic that I want to explain to you, and it’s about preposition.
- WHAT’S PREPOSITION?
Based on “English Grammar In Context” book by Janet Mueller Bing that I borrowed from one of the amazing library at Bogor, that prepositions are :
Prepositions are words that show many kinds of relationships, such as time, place, and direction.
And based on “Mastering Basic Grammar with answers” book by R.D. Tracey, B.A. (Hons.) prepositions meaning are:
Preposition indicate position, direction or time.
- The preposition’s relationship
A preposition shows the relationship between the noun or pronoun which comes after it, and some other word in the sentence.
For examples :
- I put the money into my wallet.
- He led the people away from the accident.
- Here are common preposition :

- She placed the flowers on the table.
- He walked to the village.
- The gift arrived before lunch.
- The books are in the box.
- Trees fell during the violent storm.
- This preserved fruit is from China.
- We were sitting beside the road.
- My niece hid my book under my bed.
- I sat between my parents.
- He leaned against the wall.
