Dalam memahami Bahasa Inggris tentunya kita membutuhkan kosakata yang dapat kita pakai dalam komunikasi. Tak hanya kosakata tapi kita juga harus mengetahui bagaimana, sih, cara pengucapan dan pengejaan Bahasa Inggris yang baik dan benar. Maka dari itu dengan secara Cuma-Cuma saya akan membagikan informasi yang saya dapatkan dari BLOOMSBURY International mengenai English study tips: Tips for vocabulary, spelling and pronunciation.
Ini dia beberapa tips dari guru native tentang bagaimana learning and improving your vocabulary, spelling and pronunciation! So, ayo simak baik-baik dan catat semua ini dalam bukumu~
Jack’s from Bloomsbury International teacher, tips for learning vocabulary:
1. Choose 5 words you want to memorize, and put them into a context by creating a story. This is particularly useful for words which are unconnected.
2. Label objects with stickers. You can start by labelling all your stationary.
3. Play word games such as Scrabble and Boggle. Online crosswords and riddles can also help you learn new vocabulary.
Dicky’s from Bloomsbury International teacher, tips for improving your spelling:
1. Make a list of any words that your teacher has corrected on your written work or that you were not sure of and checked in a dictionary or spell checker. Remember to look at this list regularly.
2. Download a word game like Scrabble or Boggle to your mobile phone or tablet (or play an online game on your computer).
If you follow these tips, I’m sure your spelling will improve quickly!
Lauren’s from Bloomsbury International teacher, tips for improving your pronunciation:
1. Learn the IPA and the sounds of English by using the chart in your progress form. It will help you with pronunciation when you don’t have a teacher to ask.
2. Put your hand on your throat to feel the difference between a voiced sound, such as /b/, and an unvoiced sound, /p/.
3. Record yourself on your smartphone or tablet to hear what you sound like, so you know what areas of pronunciation and intonation you need to work on
